Stanley Canyon hike

For those of you familiar with Stanley Canyon, let me tell you that the experience takes on a whole new meaning with offspring strapped to your back!

Yes, we went on a hike today with Nathan and Kyle and in typical Mills fashion, learned some lessons the hard way--start early to beat the rain; with the same resilience that Dr. Seuss doesn't like Green Eggs 'n Ham, Kyle does not like cold bottles, even at the top of the Canyon; running shoes are made for running, hiking shoes are made for hiking, running shoes are not made for hiking; by all means, return before nap time; take Motrin before departure.

But enough about that. Here's a few shots from our BEAUTIFUL day. We saw wildflowers in full bloom, hiked besides a fantastic stream and waterfalls (Nathan calls them "water fall-downs"), cut across a picture perfect meadow, climbed over downed trees, and took a break besides the reservoir that was absolutely pristine. Couldn't have asked for a more memorable experience.
